We wanted to make families aware of construction taking place around Pen High next week. There will be two areas impacted:
- Main Street and Eckhardt Avenue
Construction will be taking place at the corner of Main Street and Eckhardt Avenue to improve bus access to Eckhardt Avenue. During this work, please access the Pen High parking lot using Ellis Street.
- Pen High Parking Lot Exit onto Eckhardt Avenue
Separate work will also be taking place where the Pen High parking lot exits onto Eckhardt Avenue. While this work is underway, vehicles leaving the parking lot will be able to proceed straight across Eckhardt Avenue or turn left onto Eckhardt Avenue. Right turns onto
Eckhardt Avenue will be impacted. This work is intended to improve the turning radius for school buses.
To help reduce congestion around the school, if possible, we encourage families to drop students off on Main Street or near the Penticton Public Library and have them walk the short distance to school.
Please allow some extra time for drop off and pick up next week.
